Excellent work, unlocking those mysteries!
Now you have three parts of The Beast of Bordeaux Adventure safely locked away. What next? Well, there seems to be a lot of wolves around here. Must be something to do with them. For Solomon’s sake, I do hope they don’t hunt in packs…
The first three parts of this Adventure give you the Chapter cards, some Discovery cards, and two new tiles. That’s a great start, though we’re not out of the woods yet!
Please note that the art we have used in these graphics is not final – our board artists are working on something new for a gameplay video at the moment (coming soon to a screen near you!), and they’re a bit busy. However, I can tell you what one side of the new boards will be: the forest of Bordelais.
The scene that goes with these new boards is unique in the game (so far) because it is replayable within the context of a single Act. Normally each scene is only visited once per Act. In this case, Solomon must search through the forests for clues, so we have a scene to replicate this.
However, we wanted to make this more varied, and so the set-up is random, including the orientation of the tiles. We then made it very hard to get everything you needed to move on with your first try, so you can randomize it all again and have a second attempt with a new variation of the challenge if you need to. Because the whole thing is varied, this feels like a new scenario, even though you have the same objective. And this time, you not only know more about what you’re doing, but you’re hopefully halfway to winning when you start! Of course, time is always of the essence, so whilst being able to take two bites at the task instead of one makes the objective easier to achieve, it does mean that the sun drops low on the horizon, and night creeps ever-closer while you’re doing so.
Do remember to watch out for wolves though. They turn up everywhere in the forest, even more so at night, and it does seem to be getting late…
Speaking of wolves, our next stretch goal is the short-sighted herbalist at $850k. He probably hasn’t spotted it, but even he has one of the furry critters shadowing him.
If you are interested in any of our add-ons, simply click on the green “manage your pledge” button near the top of the page. Then increase your total by the amount of any add-ons you wish to include in your pledge. So, if you have an Early Bird Puritan pledge ($110) and want to add the Early Bird Virtuous Bundle ($190) so that you have everything available for Solomon Kane, you would increase your total to $300.
Please note that during the campaign there is no way for you to tell us what the money you pledge is actually for, so don’t worry about that now. Instead, after the Kickstarter is over we will send you a “pledge manager”. This allows you to tell us exactly how you want to allocate your pledge, which add-ons you would like, how many core boxes, and (most importantly) where we need to send it all!
Also note that you need to take the Early Bird Virtuous bundle if you have an Early Bird Puritan pledge, to avoid getting The Right Hand of Doom twice.
